Ginger Root Around Town

Wondering just how to incorporate some Ginger Root into your work wardrobe or perhaps a night out on the town? Check out BYT’s What to Wear to Work and Creative Cocktailwear: BYT + Corcoran ARTINI to see some Ginger Root and other local goodies. We love BYT!

“BYT Style to the rescue! Some very doable thoughts on how you can wear color to work this spring. To prove that you can do this, we shoot on location in an actual office with actual workers: the very gracious Sorg Architect’s U Street Architecture & Design studio. Lighten up, folks!”

See some of our new Ginger Root Spring goodies below, and check out the entire shoot here.

We’re Expanding!

At Ginger Root Design, we are all beyond excited to announce that we are expanding! What exactly does that mean? The current location of Ginger Root will continue into the back so we can carry more artists and eco-friendly goods, and upstairs will be our tailoring and sewing shop. We need to hire more people but don’t have enough space for them, so we are making room. For the first bit of change, here is our new logo for the store!

New artist in the store – Handmade by Clara

Our newest local artist, Clara, takes her inspiration from her studio art and sculpture background. Each set of earrings, constructed from hardware wire, is a unique work of art in miniature form.

A native of Seattle, Clara now lives, works and makes fun stuff in Washington, D.C. When she is not making jewelry, you will find her playing rugby, dancing, rock climbing, traveling and hanging out in the back sewing area of Ginger Root (she is also one of our tailors).

Here is just a small taste of the earrings now available in store at Ginger Root.
