Meet the Artist: Alyx Mark

Meet the Artist: Alyx Mark
Alyx Mark is one of our newest artists at Ginger Root Design and we couldn’t be more stoked to have her work in our store. Her jewelry line, Xyla (which is her name spelled backwards!), features necklaces with beads that Alyx molds from polymer clay. The beads’ texture and weight make them a tactile treat […]

About a Dude #27

About a Dude #27
This week, About A Dress is once again focused on men, and is also showcasing our brand new Two-Tone ties. This skirt came to us through Jennifer Jeremias’ vintage collection. The pattern is undeniably great (and it’s Pendleton wool!), but it hung on a rack for ages.

Customer Profile: Rachel

Rachel came to us with an adorable vintage dress she found on etsy. Unfortunately, it also came with some pretty wicked stains right across the bust. She tried having it dry cleaned, but *alas* those stains were here to stay.  Luckily, this chick has some great ideas, and came to us to sew a panel over the stains. Originally she was going to get some black fabric, but once she found a vibrant magenta, it was love at first sight!

About a Dude #26

About a Dude #26
This week’s About a Dress has been hijacked for the menfolk, in honor of our man-friendly pop up vintage shop in the backroom. I found this “dress” in Fond du Lac, WI, while shopping the Value Village with my mom. We both fell in looove with the airplane print on the skirt, but the rest…. *sigh* This is definitely an example of a revamp gone wrong…

Customer Profile: Laurie

Our customer profile this week features one of our clients who’s been with us since before there was Ginger Root. She once told me that she wears something made by an independent artist every day, a choice that has always inspired me.
