Ginger Root Design is hiring!! We are looking to fill a sales position, and tailor/stitcher positions. For the tailor/stitcher positions:

A minimum of two years professional stitching experience is required.  Relevant schooling (either technical college or university) is strongly preferred, but additional experience in tailoring or theatrical costume shops will suffice.  Our ideal candidate will be comfortable using both industrial and home sewing machines, as well as sergers.  Applicants will be asked to complete a sewing sample, which will include the slant hem and “x” stitches, machine stitched button hole, tailor’s knots, and an invisible and lapped zipper.

The available tailoring position will involve a variety of standard alterations, but has opportunity to grow into our signature “re-design” projects.  The available stitching positions will assist us in producing our DC-sewn, eco-friendly, Ginger Root house line.  We’re looking for someone with a sunny outlook on life (like our own!), great work ethic, who’s excited by new challenges, and genuinely enjoys sewing.  We love what we do, and we want you to as well!
