How long have you been drawing and making art? Forever! I always liked to draw. I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2007 where I studied illustration.
You illustrate everything from animals to people to food. How do you decide what to draw? I draw what is around and what interests me. I like pattern and color, so I usually try to add that into images too. I also always carry a sketchbook to draw what I see and then sometimes I make larger drawings from that.
Is there a certain project or collaboration that you secretly want to do but haven’t had the chance yet? I would really like to design fabric and wallpaper patterns.
What influences your work? People and seeing new things.
Who are some of your favorite artists or illustrators? Rob Ryan, Martha Rich, Maira Kalman, Julie Rothman, Mike Perry, Lizzy Stewart and many more!
