Charlie, our PR aficionado and shop lady, brought us this purple dress she’d received from her grandmother. Cute pattern! But the drop waist and the length were out of date and not Charlie’s style, and in general are hard for a woman to pull off.

To tweak it, we shortened the skirt and moved the waist up to Charlie’s natural waistline, making sure to preserve the original pattern at the hem.  We also removed some fabric from the collar to give the dress a more youthful neckline.   And now…

…it’s a whole new dress! This baby could rival a mass-produced, chain store dress any day of the week: One-of-a-kind, personal, and adorable!
